NHFC : Working for Your Health Freedom!
NHFC educates health freedom leaders across the country and internationally on the principles of health freedom and how to establish laws to protect health freedom. On the state level, eight states have succeeded in passing safe harbor exemption laws, and many more are actively working on legislation, so that traditional, natural, and holistic health practitioners may serve clients without fear of closure or harassment by the government. And, clients may freely have access to them for treatment.
On the national and international level NHFC is working to protect consumer access to dietary supplements and healthful food products and to protect the right of dietary supplement and food companies to make truthful statements about the benefits of their products.
NHFC supports health freedom by:
· TRAINING: Coaching and education of local, state and national freedom supporters in their efforts to design appropriate legislation and how to pass bills at legislatures and Congress..
· COMMUNICATION: Hosting a weekly conference call with leading health freedom activists, to strategize and implement many actions needed to pave the way for health freedom.
· ASSEMBLY: Reconvening and chairing the US Health Freedom Assembly, where health freedom leaders participate in the Round as voting members, network, give awards to leaders, and are trained.
· NETWORKING FOR HEALTH FREEDOM: NHFC attends and lectures at health freedom conferences, expos and events to educate on the need for health freedom and the mission for reform. NHFC maintains an extensive website that is a resource for the health freedom movement.
The needs for financial support are many:
· EDUCATION: Funding for support for state leaders program costs and onsite workshops in state.
· ANNUAL CONFERENCE: Funding to reconvene the United States Health Freedom Assembly and provide the leadership training.
· VISIBILITY: Participation in federal and international forums.
· TRAVEL: Funding for staff to educate state freedom leaders, attend specific conferences and expos, be present at CODEX and be at the table at health reform/freedom conferences plus testifying at hearings.
· MARKETING and PUBLIC RELATIONS EXPENSES.
· OPERATIONAL FUNDS: To support day-to-day operations of the organization and general business expenses.
